T-72B3M tank crews destroyed platoon strongholds and AFU combat vehicles

Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the Army Corps of the North group of troops destroyed platoon strongholds, an ammunition depot and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kharkiv direction in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 3.
The tankers provide fire support to motorized rifle and assault units of the Russian troops, operate as part of armored groups, destroy military equipment and hidden enemy manpower, the ministry said. The tanks can operate both directly at the front line and from closed firing positions (CFPs) - behind the terrain or in shelters, which allows them to remain undetected.
The crews of the T-72B3M tanks destroyed platoon strongholds, an ammunition depot and AFU combat vehicles with point-blank fire. The coordinates of the targets became known thanks to reconnaissance by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Having received the command, the tankers moved to the ZOPs in an expeditious manner. In less than five minutes, the guns were ready to engage on a hovering trajectory and aimed at the identified targets.
In the video, the crew of a T-72B3M tank supported Russian assault units from a closed position. The tankers fired a series of rounds of fragmentation projectiles with real-time adjustments by the UAV operator. The objective control footage showed a strong fire and detonation of an AFU ammunition depot, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Having fired back, the tankers change positions to exclude retaliatory fire from enemy artillery or kamikaze drones attacking the tanks.
"Supported the infantry offensive, worked on the specified targets. Worked well, successfully returned home. The vehicle is intact, the crew is alive and well, everything is good. The crew is fighting, the guys are good, we have been working together for almost a year. The vehicle is a T-72B3M of 2024, it's good, fast," said the commander of the tank of the "North" group of troops with the call sign Filin.
The tankers are engaged in combat work around the clock. The priority targets are fortifications and enemy combat vehicles, including foreign-made ones, the ministry added.
"As a mechanic-driver my main task is to keep the vehicle in readiness, check oils, fluids, fuel. The most important thing is to take the crew out on a combat mission and bring them back," said the senior mechanic-driver of the tank platoon of the "North" group of troops with the call sign Yurist.
Earlier, on February 1, it was reported that servicemen of the Russian group of troops "North" destroyed the Ukrainian drone "Baba Yaga" in Kharkiv region.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
