Louvre president Laurence de Carse said Feb. 2 that the museum will introduce an additional ticket for separate access to the Mona Lisa.

"The idea is to have a ticket to the Louvre that gives you access to the permanent collections and exhibitions, and if you want to see the Mona Lisa, it will be this ticket plus access to the Mona Lisa," she was quoted by Le Figaro newspaper as saying by France Inter.

Earlier, on January 28, French President Emmanuel Macron said during a visit to the Louvre that Leonardo da Vinci's painting "Mona Lisa" will be placed in a separate hall of the museum.

Later, on January 29, it became known about the increase in ticket prices to the Louvre for citizens of non-EU countries. The new rates in the museum can begin to operate from January 1, 2026. At the moment, the full cost of a ticket - € 22. It is not yet known how much the price of passage to the gallery will rise.
