Criminal case opened after fatal accident with bus in Leningrad Region


A criminal case has been opened after a traffic accident with a bus in Leningrad region. This was reported by the regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in Telegram-channel on February 3.
"Kingisepp inter-district investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the IC of Russia in the Leningrad region initiated a criminal case on the fact of rendering services that do not meet safety requirements, causing the death of two or more persons by negligence (part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.
All the circumstances and causes of the incident are currently being established.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region specified that among the victims - an 11-year-old boy, whose condition was assessed by doctors as serious.
Theaccident with a bus and a snowplow occurred in the evening on February 2 on the A-180 highway, at 135 km in Kingisepp district of the Leningrad region. The 38-year-old driver of the snowplow "Kamaz" made a collision with a bus "Scania" moving in the opposite direction. 22 people were in the cabin of the bus, two of them died. According to Izvestia source, 13 people were hospitalized after the accident, including one child. Three are in serious condition in intensive care.
