- Moskalkova demanded the UN and the Council of Europe condemn the AFU strike on a boarding school in Kursk region

The United Nations (UN), the Council of Europe (CoE) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) should condemn the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) missile attack on a boarding school in Kursk Region, Russian human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova urged on 2 February.
She noted that Ukrainian Nazis staged a bloody provocation in Suja, striking a boarding school where militants were holding illegally captured Russian citizens.
"I appeal to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Chairman of the UN Human Rights Committee, the Director of the OSCE ODIHR, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn the crime against humanity committed by the Kiev regime. <...> If human rights are not an empty sound for you, you have no right to remain silent!" - Moskalkova wrote in her Telegram channel.
She noted that the destruction of a civilian facility, where there were the most unprotected people is a crime that will not be forgiven and forgotten.
"I am sure that the perpetrators of this atrocity, which cynically violated all conventions and treaties, will suffer inevitable and severe punishment," the human rights ombudsman added.
Earlier on February 2, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also called on all governments to condemn the AFU strike on the boarding school in Suja. The diplomat added that the AFU shelling of civilians and civilian objects in Kursk Region and other Russian regions demonstrated the barbaric nature of the Kiev regime.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the same day that the AFU launched a targeted missile strike on a boarding school in Suja on February 1. The launch of enemy missiles from Sumy region was detected by Russian air defense equipment.
Political analyst and retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen told Izvestia on February 2 that the AFU's targeted missile strike on the boarding school in the town of Suja, Kursk Region, was carried out in order to lure Russian forces away from the main front line, where they are making significant gains. In his opinion, this is a "typical reaction of desperation" of the Kiev regime, which indiscriminately strikes at any targets.
The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
