The owner of Volgoneft-239 named the number of remaining tankers of the series


The owner of the tanker Volgoneft-239, which was wrecked in the Black Sea, has only one vessel of this series left that does not require repairs. This was reported in CJSC Volgatransneft to RIA Novosti on February 2.
"Tankers of this series remained five - three in repair, two - in navigation, of which one tanker is now in Kerch - emergency, most likely, there and will be repaired. The other one is on the Don River, it is in normal condition", - said the representative of the shipowner.
He specified that all technical inspections are carried out in ship-repair enterprises. At the same time, the tankers, which are at a standstill and cannot move, will wait for the opening of navigation to go by river to the ship repair plants.
The tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident.
Later, on January 31, Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev said that specialists had begun work on the disposal of the tanker "Volgoneft-239", which is planned to be completed by the end of March 2025. He noted that the work on pumping out fuel oil from the aft part of the vessel was completed on January 25.
