Director Viktor Savkin died at the age of 85

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, second director Viktor Savkin died on January 31 at the age of 85, the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation reported on February 2.

"On the 86th year of life was not our friend and colleague <...> Savkin Victor Ivanovich. <...> We offer condolences to relatives and friends," - stated on the website of the organization.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 4, at 13:00 in the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity on Karamyshevskaya embankment.

Savkin graduated from the Moscow Institute of Culture as an actor-director. Since 1969 he worked as the second director of the Creative Association "Ekran".

He was also the second director on the set of Boris Durov ("Here is My Village"), Alexander Blank ("The Return of Budulai"), Vadim Derbenev ("On the Corner at the Patriarchs"), Georgy Shengelia ("Classic"), Alexander Orlov ("Amazing Boy"), Menachem Golan ("Crime and Punishment") and others.

As an actor, he can also be seen in many films and TV series, including "Here's My Village", "The Return of Budulai", "Arbat Motive", "Classic", "Special Case", "On the Corner at Patriarshie-2", "Antikiller-2", "The Fifth Guardian" and others.
