"Squid Game" actress Lee Ju-shil died of cancer at the age of 81

South Korean actress Lee Ju-shil, who played former police officer Hwang Joon-ho in the second season of the TV series "Squid Game," has died at the age of 81, en.yna.co.kr reported on February 2.

The media outlet notes that doctors diagnosed the actress with stomach cancer three months ago, Lee Ju-shil. Eijongbu Hospital noted that the actress suffered a cardiac arrest. Her funeral will be held on February 5, Gazeta.Ru adds.

In 1995, Lee Ju-shil debuted as a theater actress and participated in many famous productions in South Korea. Before that, in 1993, she had already been diagnosed with breast cancer, but in 2003 she reported defeating it. Despite battling the disease, the actress continued to be active in movies and acting in theater.
