TPP in Transnistria starts operating after resumption of gas supplies from Moldova

After the start of Moldovan gas supplies to the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (TMR), the Kuchurgan State District Power Plant (SDPP) switched to gas-fired heat generation. This was reported on February 2 by the portal Bani.md.
It is specified that the company Energocom SA, which is responsible for energy procurement in Moldova, will buy gas on trading platforms in the European Union (EU) and Ukraine at market prices.
Transportation will be carried out according to a schedule agreed with Tiraspoltransgaz. It is specified that the daily supplies will not exceed 3 million cubic meters.
On the eve, the DMR leader Vadim Krasnoselsky said that Transnistria had stopped fanning power cuts after the Moldovan government decided to start gas supplies to the unrecognized republic. It was specified that the fuel would be purchased with a grant from the European Union.
Before that, on January 31, Krasnoselsky in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Victor Sineok said that the state of the energy sector in the DMR was in shock. At the time, he noted that the unrecognized republic would also see losses due to the shutdown of industrial enterprises.
Gas supplies from Russia to Moldova and Transnistria stopped on January 1 due to Ukraine 's refusal to prolong the agreement on transit through its territory and debts of the Moldovan side to Gazprom. In mid-January, it became known that Russia was ready to provide assistance to the DMR and start humanitarian gas supplies.
