- Scientists have predicted a variant of the scenario of a collision between US and Chinese destroyers

Military researchers from China conducted a simulation of a collision between a Chinese Type 055 destroyer and eight US Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, from which the Chinese ship emerged victorious. This was reported on February 2 by Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post.
According to scholars, the victory was made possible by the Chinese ship's use of two unmanned support ships that were able to repel U.S. Tomahawk and LRASM stealth anti-ship missiles by teaming up with the main destroyer to share data and jointly control weapons.
As a result, the U.S. ships exhausted their supply of missiles, while the Chinese destroyer remained intact and with full ammunition.
Yu Ming Hui, a professor of artificial intelligence, said that the development of maritime drones and unmanned boats will give the Chinese army a highly effective and inexpensive "network of destruction" to combat the fleet of potential enemies.
Earlier, on January 16, military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said that the armies of Russia, China and the United States are at about the same level in terms of power. According to him, the US side is put in the first place "by inertia." He expressed the opinion that China should take the first place.
