Zakharova suggested reorganizing the U.S. Agency for International Development

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has suggested changing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) into a "self-help agency" if it resumes its activities. She wrote about this in her Telegram channel on February 2.
She specified that this body of state administration is broken. And ironically called it an agency for interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, Gazeta.Ru noted .
"If they are going to fix it, let them immediately remake it into an agency to help themselves. The functionality may include updating the US fire safety system, promoting the return of natural gender, investigating corruption schemes of previous US administrations," Zakharova emphasized.
Earlier, on January 20, the White House website published an executive order by US President Donald Trump to suspend Washington's development aid to other countries for 90 days.
On January 25, Reuters reported that USAID froze programs to support foreign countries, including Ukraine, following a State Department dispatch approved by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The Le Monde newspaper noted that USAID's freezing of US foreign aid caused panic in Ukraine. The newspaper explained that the authorities of this country consider Washington's support crucial for Kiev's fate.
Malek Dudakov, an American political scientist, also told Izvestiya on January 29 that the US decision "hit" Ukraine and Taiwan. In addition, he expressed the opinion that Trump would not step up assistance to the Ukrainian side in the future.
