Civilian killed in AFU attack on Belgorod region

A civilian was killed as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Belgorod village of Malinovka. This was reported by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov on February 2.

"The AFU with the help of a drone purposefully struck the settlement of Malinovka <...>. As a result of the detonation of an explosive device a man was killed," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the governor of the Belgorod region, the man died before the arrival of the ambulance crew.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that overnight, air defense forces destroyed five Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. It was specified that three drones were eliminated in the sky over the Kursk region, as well as one each over the territories of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
