Former captain of the KVN team from Odessa Valery Khait has died at the age of 85. This was reported by the World Organization of Odessa on the page in Facebook (owned by Meta, the activities of which are banned in Russia).

"We regret to inform about the death of Valery Isakovitch Hait on February 1, 2025", - stated in the message.

The cause of death is not specified.

Khait led in 1970-1980 Odessa KVN teams "Team Odessa", "First team of gentlemen OSU". In 1972 he co-created and founded the Odessa "Humorina". In 1986-1990 he was the artistic director of the television program "Gentleman Show". In addition, he wrote several books on the subject of humor. He served as vice-president of the World Club of Odessites.
