Western countries will not recognize the mistakes made in the situation with the breakage of cables in the Baltic Sea and false accusations against Russia. This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin on February 2.

Thus he responded to the question of whether the West would take back its words upon proving the Russian side's non-involvement in these incidents.

"Unproven accusations against Russia have become a favorite technique of Western countries to keep afloat the myth of the Russian threat, justify the need for increased military spending and military aid to the Kiev regime," he told TASS.

Barbin added that this policy does not involve admitting mistakes.

Norwegian police on January 31 detained the Silver Dania vessel with a crew from Russia on suspicion of allegedly damaging a cable in the Baltic Sea. It was noted that the ship is registered in Norway and sails under the Norwegian flag, but the entire crew of 11 people on board are Russian citizens. They have not yet applied to the Russian Embassy.

In turn, Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova reacted to the detention of the Russian crew on suspicion of allegedly damaging a cable in the Baltic Sea, saying that the Russian Federation is not interested in such a thing, especially against the background of already strained relations with Europe.

Later, on February 1, the Norwegian police released the vessel. It was specified that no traces connecting the Silver Dania vessel with the damaged cable in the Baltic Sea were found.
