Soldiers of the motorized rifle regiment of the "North" group of troops have delivered humanitarian aid to residents of the border districts of Kursk Region, which came under fire from the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on February 2.

As the ministry noted, the servicemen of the "North" group of troops continue to deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of settlements in the Kursk region, which were attacked by Ukrainian militants.

"The local population should understand that they are protected, that the Russian army will always support, help materially. There are logical difficulties with foodstuffs. Also, we do not forget about children, they must realize that they still have childhood, despite the hostilities. Therefore, sweets, toys, everything we can try to get and please the local population", - shared a serviceman of the group of troops "North" with the call sign Svarog.

In Korenevsky district of Kursk region, servicemen of the motorized rifle regiment of the "North" group of troops provide support to civilians who decided not to leave their homes or evacuate. The servicemen provide the local population with food, hygiene products and basic necessities in those settlements where civilian volunteers cannot reach.

The situation is particularly difficult in remote settlements. It is possible to reach the residents only by off-road vehicles. It is to such areas that humanitarian aid from our military is first of all sent.

Local residents thanked the servicemen of the "North" group of troops for the assistance provided.

"The military come once a week for sure. They bring food, everything they need. They ask what else is needed. They don't forget our children, they bring them candy. Thank them for this," shared a resident of Kursk region Elena.

Earlier, on January 29, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that servicemen of the military police of the "North" group of troops and volunteers of the "Bars-Kursk" unit delivered humanitarian aid to civilians in the border area of Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian Federation positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
