Head of Karelia says Russophobia in Finland after incident with Russian schoolboy

The Finnish authorities demonstrate such deep Russophobic sentiments that they did not allow a 10-year-old schoolboy with Russian citizenship to visit the excursion, considering him a threat to national security. This was stated by the head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov on February 1, expressing his indignation at the incident.
"The child's mother - and I together with her - are outraged by such discrimination. It is a pity that our Finnish neighbors have fallen so deeply into Russophobia and witch-hunting that they consider a 10-year-old Russian child a threat to national security," Parfenchikov said in his Telegram channel.
He added that this incident says a lot about modern Finland and nothing at all about Russians. The head of the region also offered the boy and his family members to visit the industrial enterprises of Karelia instead of the failed walk through the nuclear plant in Finland.
"Come to us in Karelia! I will personally conduct <...> a tour of our leading industrial enterprises - Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, Petrozavodskmash or any other. Visitors are good, but home is better! And you can't be nice abroad by force", - noted the head of the republic.
On the eve of the Finnish media reported that the administration of the nuclear power plant "Olkiluoto" forbade a child with dual citizenship - Finland and Russia - to visit the excursion on its territory, because he allegedly may pose some kind of threat to the security of the power facility.
Viktor Vodolatsky, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, told Izvestia that Russophobia is growing and strengthening in European and NATO countries, including Finland, and Western politicians are trying to accuse even Russian children of threatening the state. At the same time, Finns will soon realize themselves that they suffer from Russophobic rhetoric. In addition, rallies are already taking place in Finland against the policy of the current leadership towards the Russian Federation and in favor of opening checkpoints on the border.
