TikTok deleted the song "Yo, Russians" after the appeal of the Kazakh authorities


Social network TikTok deleted the chauvinistic song "Yo, orystar" (Kazakh translation: "Yo, Russians". - Ed.) after the appeal of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan to the administration of the online platform. This was reported on February 1 by the Vice-Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Yevgeny Kochetov.
"As of 27.01.2025, measures to remove illegal content have been taken by the administration of the online platform TikTok," he told TASS.
According to the official, the song or its fragments were found on 22 Internet resources and on the sites of online platforms TikTok, YouTube and "VKontakte". Notices on all the identified materials were sent to the addresses of administrations to take measures to eliminate violations.
Earlier, January 29, Deputy Prosecutor General Galymzhan Koigeldiev said that the authors of the song have not yet been found. However, a criminal case was initiated against Kazakhstani blogger-satirist Temirlan Ensebek for dissemination of the song with signs of inciting ethnic hatred, Informburo reports.
Before that, on January 25, Kazakhstan announced an international wanted list for blogger Dana Ormanbaeva, who insulted a Russian-speaking resident. The court authorized a measure of restraint in the form of detention in absentia.
