Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. The Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Krymskoye in the DNR. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on February 1. In addition, the Russian army defeated the living forces and equipment of four mechanized, motorized infantry, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and a brigade of the National Guard in a number of areas of settlements in the Donetsk People's Republic.

The Ukrainian army's losses for the day amounted to up to 570 servicemen, two tanks, including a German Leopard tank, four armored combat vehicles, nine pickup trucks and three field artillery guns, the military ministry added.

Also, Russian air defense (air defense) assets shot down 10 U.S. HIMARS multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) and 108 aircraft-type drones.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 42095 UAVs, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs), 20984 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1511 MLRS combat vehicles, 21100 field artillery and mortars, 31097 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
