- AP reported on the Democrats' plan to identify a new leader after failing in the election

More than 400 members of the U.S. Democratic Party's National Committee are gathering Feb. 1 for a convention in suburban Washington, D.C., to choose a new committee chairman after the party's failed U.S. presidential election, which was won by Republican nominee Donald Trump. The Associated Press (AP) writes about this on February 1.
The main candidates for the post, according to the media, are the chairman of the Democratic Party in Wisconsin Ben Wikler and the chairman of the Democratic Party in Minnesota Ken Martin. Thus, Wikler said Democrats need a new chairman to "fight back against the horror that Trump is unleashing on communities across the country." In addition, both candidates promised not to shy away from the party's commitment to diversity and minority groups, which are "pillars of the modern Democratic Party."
According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll, only 31% of respondents have a favorable view of the Democratic Party. At the same time, 43% of respondents approve of the actions of the Republican Party.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, and the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris - 47.4%. The next day, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
At the same time, former US President Joe Biden said about the possibility of Harris becoming president after Trump. However, he emphasized that the decision on this will be made by the politician herself.
