- The West has sounded the alarm over the possibility of losing important resources in Ukraine

Western countries may lose important resources in Ukraine, which could be transferred to Russia as a result of the successful advance of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces). This was reported by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on 1 February.
According to him, the world economy is becoming more dependent on critical minerals, whose reserves in Ukraine are huge. He specified that the state is one of the main exporters of titanium and manganese to the USA.
At the same time, Tsahkna emphasized that the resources are "extremely close to the current front line."
"If the territories were to fall to Russia, Moscow and its partners would have a vast treasure trove at their disposal," he wrote in an article for National Interest magazine.
Earlier, on January 30, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Ukraine was set back 100 years as a result of the conflict . According to him, the country's energy system has been destroyed, and "someone will have to pay for the restoration" in the future.
Prior to that, on January 27, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Viktor Muzhenko, said that Ukraine had lost half of its natural resources after the loss of four regions.
The special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision to carry it out was taken against the background of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
