Ukraine will not be able to quarrel Russia with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on 1 February.

She commented on the FSB report on the identification of a person who insulted representatives of the Uzbek nation. In the video the author pretends to be a Russian, but in reality, as the special services found out, he is a citizen of Ukraine.

"No matter how hard these "anonyms" try to hide behind false identities and flags, with modern technical capabilities they can be identified. And it immediately becomes clear who benefits from sowing ethnic discord in Russia," she wrote in her Telegram channel.

Zakharova recalled that the unity of the peoples of the Russian Federation is one of the officially enshrined traditional values of the state. According to her, the friendship with the peoples of the CIS "cannot be undermined neither by video fakes, nor by paid provocations from abroad."

Earlier in the day, the Russian Federal Security Service reported on attempts by Ukrainian and Lithuanian security services and their foreign handlers to undermine Russia's partnership with the CIS countries. A video clip in which Ukrainian citizen Mykola Kochmarik insults representatives of the Uzbek nation was published on the YouTube channel of the Lithuanian security services.
