Over 270 tons of contaminated soil were removed from the beaches in Krasnodar region over the day. This was reported on February 1 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
"Identified 14 main sites of work on the collection of oil products with a total length of 63 km, collected and removed from the coastline of almost 177 thousand tons (for a day - more than 270 tons) of contaminated sand and soil, including removed to a temporary site - more than 136 thousand tons (for a day - more than 277 tons), to landfills for collection and disposal removed more than 40 thousand tons", - specified in the department.
It is noted that at the site of temporary storage sifting and cleaning of contaminated sand with the help of a vibrating unit is carried out. With its help, said the rescuers, was cleaned almost 13.5 thousand tons of sand.
A total of 416 interdepartmental monitoring groups have been organized in the Krasnodar region, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to survey the coastline of more than 970 km. In the Black Sea water area more than 6.4 square kilometers have already been surveyed, and over the last day - 184 square kilometers. At the same time, more than 50.7 square meters were treated with sorbent. Among other things, in the area of Vityazevo berth, diving teams are surveying and collecting oil products.
Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" due to bad weather crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died.
On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency. January 23, Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov said that the Russian government would allocate 1.5 billion rubles to reimburse the costs of eliminating the consequences of the wreck of the two ships and the fuel spill.
On January 31, "Izvestia" published footage from the scene - specialists in the area of the Volgoneft-239 tanker wreck started dismantling the vessel, and two months were given for the complete dismantling of the stern part.
