A criminal case under Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - robbery was opened in Yekaterinburg after a bank robbery. This was reported on February 1 by Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Sverdlovsk chief of the Interior Ministry.

In the Telegram-channel of the press service, he specified that for such a crime the attacker could face imprisonment for up to 15 years.

"The prey of the intruder were monetary funds, both in Russian and foreign currencies: dollars, euros, yuan and dirhams. The exact amount of damage caused to the financial organization is currently being established by the affected party. According to preliminary data, it amounts to about 7 million rubles," Gorelykh specified.

According to him, the bank employees pressed the call button of the private security company (PSC) at 19:18 local time (17:18 Moscow time) on January 31. Seven minutes later, the PSC detachment was at the scene - the attacker had already fled. Then, at 19:35 (17:35 Moscow time) the call about the emergency came to the police.

"Inside the service premises armed with an object similar to a gun, the robber was less than three minutes. At present, the operatives continue to interview residents of the residential sector close to the bank building in order to identify possible eyewitnesses," - added the head of the press service.

He also said that the investigation is currently ongoing.

The day before it was reported that the robbery occurred on Cosmonauts Avenue in Ordzhonikidzevsky district. "Izvestia" published footage from the scene of the emergency.
