Explosions have been heard in Kiev, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. This was reported by the Ukrainian media on February 1.

"Explosions are heard in Kiev and Poltava regions. <...> A series of explosions were heard in Kharkiv," reads the message published in the Telegram channel "Novosti.Live".

In addition, the strikes on infrastructure were reported by the Kiev-appointed head of the Zaporizhzhya regional state administration Ivan Fedorov. According to him, facilities were damaged in areas controlled by the Ukrainian army.

As of 8:50 Moscow time, according to a map of Ukraine's air alerts, the siren was sounding in all regions of the country except Zhytomyr region.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the information about the explosions.

Earlier, on the night from Friday to Saturday, explosions were also reported in Kiev and Odessa.

Russian forces in October 2022 began striking military command and control facilities and related energy and communications facilities in Ukraine. As explained by Russian President Vladimir Putin, this was in response to terrorist actions of the Kiev regime, particularly at the Crimean Bridge.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
