The airplane that crashed in Philadelphia was a medical plane. This was reported on February 1 in the press service of the company that owns the aircraft Jet Rescue.

"A Jet Rescue air ambulance airplane has crashed. <...> On board were four crew members and two passengers (a patient and a companion)," the press service said in a post on the social network LinkedIn.

The company specified that it would not name the names of those on board until all family members had been notified of the incident.

The crash of the plane in northeast Philadelphia became known earlier on January 31. The incident occurred in the area of Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue. The cause of the downing of the airplane is still unclear. According to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane was en route to Springfield-Branson Airport in Missouri. It had six people on board, including a child, Jet Rescue Air Ambulance specified.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro indicated that the aircraft that crashed was a small private jet. He said rescuers are being provided with all necessary resources. According to the mayor of Philadelphia, several homes and cars were damaged in the plane crash.

US President Donald Trump expressed his condolences over the plane crash in Philadelphia.
