Norwegian police release Silver Dania vessel with Russian crew

The vessel Silver Dania with a crew from Russia on board, which was detained on suspicion of allegedly damaging a cable in the Baltic Sea, has been released. This was reported in the press service of the Norwegian police on January 31.
"The investigation will continue, but we see no reason for the vessel to remain in Tromsø and further," said police prosecutor Ronny Jorgensen from the Tromsø police district.
He specified that law enforcement officials have already carried out several investigative measures. No traces linking the Silver Dania vessel to the damaged cable in the Baltic Sea have been revealed.
Earlier on January 31, Norwegian police detained the ship Silver Dania with a crew from Russia on suspicion of alleged cable damage in the Baltic Sea. It was noted that the ship is registered in Norway and sails under the Norwegian flag, but the entire crew of 11 people on board are Russian citizens. They have not yet applied to the Russian Embassy.
In turn, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova reacted to the detention of the Russian crew on suspicion of allegedly damaging a cable in the Baltic Sea, saying that Russia is not interested in such a case, especially against the background of already strained relations with Europe.
