- Traces of torture were found on the bodies of the murdered civilians of Russkoe Porechnoe

The bodies of the civilians of Russkoe Porechnoe in Kursk region, who were found murdered, bore traces of gunshot wounds and electric burns. This was reported on February 1 by the acting head of the Kursk OBUZ Kursk "Bureau of forensic medical examination" Tatyana Baleevskikh.
The corpses of dead residents, mostly elderly, arrived at the bureau at the end of January.
"Predominantly corpses were with gunshot and shrapnel wounds, but stood out two corpses of an elderly man and a woman who had blunt trauma to the chest with multiple bilateral rib fractures, there were contusions of the lungs, blood spillage into the pleural cavity, the cause of death was blunt trauma to the chest," Baleevskikh emphasized.
According to the specialist, the woman's knees were also damaged, and the man's hand was broken. All this, as she emphasized, indicates the cruelty that was applied to civilians.
"Also stands out the woman, who was found to have different bodily injuries, and blunt trauma to the chest, and gunshot injuries, which were mainly localized on the back, as well as signs of exposure to electric current," Baleevskikh specified.
The deputy head of the investigative department of the State Investigative Committee of the Russian ICS Colonel of Justice Andrei Durasov added that nine corpses of civilians, three female, six male, were found in the settlement.
"Investigative actions have established that people were deprived of life with particular cruelty, tortured with the use of electricity, and then killed with shots to the head or strangled. The victims were beaten to death, those who hid in basements were pelted with grenades. Most of them had their hands tied," he said.
Now forensic medical examinations and interviews with witnesses are being conducted. As Baleevsky added, active work is now underway to identify the perpetrators of massacres and persons who gave criminal orders.
Earlier, on January 18, the group of troops "North" published footage with the bodies of civilians found in the basements in Russkoye Porechnoye. A criminal case was opened over the killing of civilians. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the guilty Ukrainian militants would be punished.
Later, on January 31, the Russian Investigative Committee (IC) identified five Ukrainian militants who were involved in the mass murder and rape in the village. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the same day that the crimes of the AFU fighters should be constantly publicized despite the deafness of the international community. Russian representatives will pass information about the AFU war crimes in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
