Bodies of 41 dead in US plane crash found

US emergency workers found the bodies of 41 people killed in the plane crash in Washington, 28 of them have been identified. This was reported during a briefing on January 31 by the chief of security and ambulance of the District of Columbia John Donnelly.

According to Donnelly, so far a total of 41 bodies have been found, 13 are still unidentified. He said search efforts will continue until the bodies of everyone on the plane are found.

"That's why our teams continue to work," CNN quoted Donnelly as saying.

He specified that divers are working in "targeted areas." In total, about 300 rescuers are involved at the crash site.

On the night of January 30, near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington collided passenger plane American Airlines and military helicopter Black Hawk, after the accident they fell into the Potomac River. There were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the plane. According to the latest data, more than 40 bodies of the victims were extracted from the river.

US President Donald Trump reported the absence of survivors in the airplane crash in Washington. He called the crash terrible and said the tragedy could have been avoided if the control tower had told the helicopter crew to change course.

CNN reported the day before that one of the flight recorders (black boxes) of the crashed passenger plane had been recovered from the Potomac River.
