The Russian Embassy in Tallinn has sent a note of protest to the Estonian Foreign Ministry over the demolition of a stele and the removal of plates with the names of Red Army soldiers at the mass grave in the town of Valga. This was reported in the press service of the diplomatic mission on January 31.

"Sent to the Estonian Foreign Ministry a note of the Embassy with a demand to stop blasphemous actions, to stop the immoral campaign to eliminate the objects of the Soviet military-memorial heritage", - stated in the message of the press service in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the Estonian authorities have produced "a new act of state vandalism" against the servicemen of the USSR.

Earlier, on November 12, 2024, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Viktor Vodolatsky said that Russophobia has strengthened among the residents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and those who desecrate Russian monuments will not escape punishment.
