Moscow court arrests two more defendants in the case of ex-Fonbet CEO


Tverskoy district court of Moscow has chosen a measure of restraint for two more defendants in the case of former CEO of the company "Fonbet" Sergey Anokhin, they will remain in custody until the end of March. This was reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital in Telegram-channel on January 31.
Among the defendants are Artem Podprosvetov and Valery Kruchenkov. They are both accused of mediation in bribery committed on a particularly large scale (part 4 of article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), follows from the publication.
It is reported that Podprosvetov will stay in custody for one month and 28 days, and Kruchenkov - one month and 29 days.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the court arrested another defendant in the bribery case - lawyer Valery Yurkin - for two months. Deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Eastern Administrative District of the capital Sergei Bivol, lawyer Stepan Gritskov and Anokhin himself were arrested for the same period. During the meeting it was announced that the businessman admits guilt and has already given detailed testimony on the other defendants in the case. It was established that Anokhin has Mexican citizenship and a residence permit in Montenegro, the case file has a copy of the Mexican passport in his name. Two unidentified defendants are on an international wanted list.
Anokhin was detained on January 29 on suspicion of bribery. The investigation believes that he tried to conceal data on embezzlement at his former place of work for Br60 million. However, one of the intermediaries and an operative, who was to receive the money, participated in the operational experiment.
At the trial, the entrepreneur said that he was the CEO of the company "Fonbet". At the same time, the bookmaker itself claimed that Anokhin left his post in January to focus on developing his own business projects. Later, the company said that it filed a lawsuit against Anokhin to "protect the honor, dignity and reputation of the company in business circles".
