President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev told how dogs can react to human growling and barking.

In a conversation with Radio 1 on Friday, January 31, the specialist explained that the pet will react depending on the behavior of the owner, and the reaction can be unpredictable and even unsafe.

"It is better to communicate with the dog in the way it is accustomed to, using previously learned commands that it knows well and can distinguish," the expert advised.

Golubev also said that growling and barking can frighten a dog, cause stress and aggression, because these animals have adapted to life with humans, they realize that he belongs to a different species. The dog is not able to perceive human speech, but responds to intonation and already learned commands associated with a certain action.

"Your behavior can confuse the dog and scare it a lot. Games when you growl at the pet are unacceptable," emphasized the specialist.

According to him, it is important for the dog to have a reliable and predictable neighbor next to him, and not an owner who decided to bark or growl at the pet.

January 24 Golubev told about the causes of fear of vacuum cleaners in dogs. Thus, the pet can be frightened not only by the noise the vacuum cleaner makes, but also by its odors, shape and movements. As the cynologist explained, dogs have hypersensitive eardrums and sounds that do not cause discomfort to humans can strongly affect the pets.
