The owner of a cafe in the Perm region where about 30 people were poisoned has been detained

The owner of the cafe Shaurma-kosmos in Perm's Kungur, where about 30 people were poisoned, has been detained by law enforcers. This was reported by the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia on January 31.

The detainee was questioned, a petition to the court to elect a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody is being prepared. In the near future the suspect will be charged.

A criminal case is being investigated under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements") and part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, resulting in negligence mass disease or poisoning of people").

"It has been established that the owner of a cafe in the town of Kungur, Perm region, whose products poisoned residents of the town, was involved in the commission of the above crimes. All victims, the number of which is established, are provided with qualified medical assistance", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The initiative became urgent against the backdrop of increasing mass poisonings

Earlier in the day, the source of "Izvestia" reported that in Kungur 29 people poisoned in a local cafe. According to his data, we are talking about 21 adults and eight minors. All of them are in a state of average severity. The work of the institution was suspended, employees of Rospotrebnadzor began checking the kitchen area of the cafe. Also appointed expert examinations, employees of the enterprise are being questioned.
