Ex-employees of the Defense Ministry's military representation were convicted of selling radar station parts

Reutovsky military garrison court has passed a sentence on two former employees of the military representation of the Russian Defense Ministry, involved in the theft of military products on a particularly large scale. This was reported on January 31 by the press service of the FSS of Russia in Moscow and Moscow region.

The sentence was handed down at the end of the investigation of the criminal case under paragraphs "a" and "b" part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Secret theft of other people's property by an organized group on a particularly large scale"). Its defendants are the ex-head of the representative office of the Russian Ministry of Defense accredited to A.I. Shokin NPP "Istok" A.I. Tyokhan, born in 1968, and his deputy T.Sh. Siyukhov, born in 1980.

"The court found the defendants guilty and sentenced each to seven years' imprisonment in a colony of general regime, with a fine of 700 thousand rubles and deprivation of military ranks. The court also partially satisfied the civil claim of JSC "NPP "Istok" named after Shokin" on compensation for damages: 102 805 064 rubles were recovered from the convicted persons," - reported in the department.

The investigation found that Tyokhan and Siyukhov from 2012 to 2021 organized the removal from the company and then sold more than 200 products used in the production of radar stations (radars) of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). They were also assisted in this by subordinates - a freelance employee, the head of the laboratory, the company's driver and the general director of a commercial firm that sold the stolen goods.

To organize the scheme, they deliberately prepared false documents about allegedly defective products, after which they were counted as defective and sent "for destruction". In reality, the accomplices were taking them out of the territory of the factory and handing them over for sale. In September 2021, while attempting to steal another batch, members of the criminal group were detained by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

The accomplices were sentenced to two to four years' imprisonment by the Shchelkovsky City Court of the Moscow Region. Also the damage caused to the enterprise was recovered from the convicts.

Before that, on January 27, the criminal case of the general director of the commercial organization Tatyana Alyabieva and eight other co-conspirators who committed embezzlement on defense contracts of the Ministry of Defense in 20 regions of the country was sent to the Moscow court. The press service of the Moscow office of the Russian Investigative Committee said that the defendants in the case were charged with fraud, abuse of power, as well as organizing or participating in a criminal association.
