Prevention of viral and infectious diseases consists in observing a number of measures, including the organization of an optimal microclimate in the apartment and physical activity. Tatyana Simonova, a general practitioner at SberZdorovye medical company, told Izvestia on February 1.
"First of all, you should make an individual vaccination plan together with your doctor. It is proven that this is an effective and safe method of disease prevention. It is also important to avoid large crowds of people, regularly wash your hands, especially after returning from public places and before eating, do not rub your eyes, do not touch mucous membranes," she specified.
According to the doctor, to maintain the work of immunity is also recommended to organize an optimal microclimate in the room: the level of humidity - 45-60%, and the temperature regime - 18-22 degrees Celsius.
"Along with this in maintaining the work of the body's defense functions, sleep and balanced nutrition play a big role. So, on average, an adult needs seven to eight hours of night sleep. To organize a proper diet should mentally divide a plate 22-23 cm in diameter into four parts: one second of fruits and vegetables, one fourth - vegetable proteins, such as beans, peas, lentils or animal - lean meat, fish, poultry, one fourth - complex carbohydrates, say, cereals, pasta, "- advised the therapist.
She also reminded that one should not forget about regular physical activity. Adults need physical activity of medium intensity at least 150-300 minutes per week or at least 75-150 minutes of high intensity, if there are no contraindications.
Earlier, on January 29, the chief physician of the European Medical Center (EMC), Rozanna Gardashnik, told Izvestia that in order to strengthen immunity in the cold season, it is especially important to follow the diet, avoid stressful situations and follow the sleep schedule. According to her, it will be useful for the body to add to the diet products with a high content of vitamin C. These may include cranberries, rose hips, citrus fruits, sauerkraut and garlic.
