The state traffic police announced mass checks of drivers

On Friday, January 31 and the first weekend of February, the State Automobile Inspectorate will conduct mass and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk motorists. Regional departments of the agency announced about the upcoming raids.
Traffic police will conduct preventive measures on the roads in Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Tver, Penza, Tambov, Lipetsk regions, the Komi Republic and other regions of the country.
On the eve of the weekend, the State Automobile Inspectorate reminds drivers of the inadmissibility of driving while intoxicated. Mass checks on Russian roads to identify drivers who sat behind the wheel after drinking alcohol are carried out on the weekend by traffic inspectors on a regular basis.
"Seeing that a drunk person sat behind the wheel, behaves inadequately, creates dangerous situations on the road, do not remain indifferent - report it to the police. Employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate will certainly take all necessary measures to respond to such reports", - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of propaganda of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.
He emphasized that drunk driving is in itself dangerous and unacceptable. And taking into account the additional risks that the winter road carries the driver and his passengers in a state of intoxication have not even the slightest chance to safely complete the trip. In addition, such behavior endangers the lives of other road users, said Belan.
The traffic police reminded that driving a car in a state of intoxication, as well as the refusal of medical examination, entails the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a large fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver may face criminal liability for these acts.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the Russian Interior Ministry has prepared amendments to the CAO RF, which are designed to close the legislative loophole that allows some drivers not to pay fines for "deaf" tinted windows. The Russian Interior Ministry is going to equalize the obligations of foreign and Russian drivers by making technical amendments to Part 3.1 of Article 12.5 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which establishes a fine of 500 rubles for exceeding the established norms of tinting (not less than 70% of the windshield and front side windows).
