- Guests of the capital's festival will be taught to make Chinese lanterns and fans

The festival "Chinese New Year in Moscow" unites two dozen locations. Guests can watch drummers' shows and circus performances, taste Asian dishes and take photos in themed decorations. More in the program - master classes, some of which will be held by participants from China, said Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina.
"Everyone is offered to practice calligraphy, to make Chinese traditional lanterns and fans, to play board games, for example, oriental analogs of chess and dominoes. Classes are held at different sites, including Tverskaya Boulevard, Manezhnaya Square and Tverskaya Square," she said.
Manezhnaya Square and the transition to Revolution Square are the main points of attraction. In pavilions stylized as pagodas, guests will learn more about Eastern culture, painting and tea ceremonies. They will be offered to create figures for shadow theater, make New Year's gifts and home decorations, clappers and musical instruments.
On Tverskaya Square, Muscovites and tourists will make fans, weave home decorations from string and coins, and decorate traditional Asian lanterns. And on Tverskoy Boulevard you can paint a toy red train and become the owner of a pendant in the form of a golden dragon.
The festival will last until February 9. In total, more than 400 events will be held. Entrance is free, registration is not required. You can find out more details on the event page in the Russpass travel service.
The festival in honor of the Chinese New Year became a part of the large-scale project "Winter in Moscow", uniting more than 1.9 thousand sites. Citizens and tourists are invited to warm up with tea and hot plushies, skate, ski and tubing, take part in master classes, watch ice shows and theatrical performances, and show care for those who need it.
