Zbigniew Zebro, Poland's former justice minister and former prosecutor-general, hid in the studio of the Republika TV channel from police officers who came to detain him. This was reported by the TV station itself on January 31.

"Ziobro appeared in the TV Republika studio when the police tried to detain him and take him to the Pegasus investigative committee. When Ziobro was giving an interview, the police arrived at the TV Republika studio," the publication said.

Half an hour later, Ziobro left the studio on his own, he was detained in the lobby of the building and then taken to the investigator for questioning.

Earlier in the day, the broadcaster reported that Zebro was to be taken to a meeting of the Investigative Commission (IC), which is investigating the case of tapping the phones of Polish politicians with the help of Israeli software Pegasus. However, police officers who arrived at his home that day did not find the former prosecutor-general.

Before that, on January 27, the District Court of Warsaw allowed to detain and forcibly bring Zebro to the SC, as he repeatedly failed to appear for questioning, and before that the Polish Sejm lifted the former minister's parliamentary immunity.

Earlier, in February last year, it became known that the intelligence services of Poland were engaged in wiretapping of former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki with the help of Israeli software Pegasus. It is noted that the intelligence services were interested in the real estate of the former Prime Minister, as well as his contacts with the Agency for Material Reserves during the pandemic coronavirus.

At the same time, some actions of the intelligence services were not directly related to Morawiecki. It is noted that he also appeared in cases where surveillance was conducted on his assistants. These cases involved data collection for at least a year and a half.
