Jetour T2 crossover is allowed to be equipped with towbar in Russia

The Jetour T2 crossover has been authorized to be equipped with a towing device, information about the permissible installation of a towbar has been included in the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA). This is stated in the message of the distributor of the Chinese brand, which was received by "Izvestia" on January 31.

The permissible weight of a towed trailer not equipped with its own braking system is 750 kg (1600 kg with a braking system). This allows the use of the vast majority of passenger car trailer models common in Russia, as well as a significant part of camper trailers available on the market, the company noted.

It is possible to equip with towbar all modifications of Jetour T2 presented on the Russian market, including the new Discovery with automatic transmission.

According to Jetour data, at the end of 2024, the T2 model took the second place in sales of cars of the brand in Russia, yielding to the crossover Dashing. It accounted for 29% of the brand's total sales in the country.

On January 20, Jetour announced that the T2 crossover in the new flagship version of Discovery will cost in Russia from 4.45 million rubles, excluding special offers. It differs in that along with a two-liter 245-horsepower turbo engine works 8-speed "automatic" instead of "robot" as in other more affordable configurations. The Discovery version has a full-size spare tire on the fifth door, which is not covered by a decorative box. The crossover also received several new options.
