Medvedev called care for the heroes of the NWO the most important priority of the state

Taking care of Russia's defenders, participants in the current special military operation (SMO), is a top priority for the authorities, and this is included in the state's long-term plans. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev during his working trip to the North-Western Federal District on January 31.

"Taking care of heroes is one of the most important priorities of our state, taking care of those who defend our country. And everyone perfectly understands, is aware that this work will be of a long-term nature," he said at a meeting in St. Petersburg, the record published on his page in the social network "VKontakte".

Visiting the selection point for military service in the northern capital, Medvedev also drew attention to the fact that plans to recruit contractors for military service in January have already been fulfilled.

"January is coming to an end. In general, the plans that we had, they are not only made up, but also fulfilled," said the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.

Before that, on January 23, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the Russian government will allocate 11.3 billion rubles to the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund. He noted that the funds would be allocated from the federal budget on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They will be allocated for lump-sum payments to participants of the SWO, who were wounded, resulting in the onset of disability.

Earlier, on December 19, 2024, during the "Results of the Year," the Russian president pointed out that the state fund "Defenders of the Fatherland," which provides assistance to veterans of the SVO and family members of fallen fighters, has become a separate instrument to support the military.
