The best company in the Russian oil and gas sector in ESG has been named

"Rosneft" became the leader among the companies of the oil and gas sector of Russia according to the "MosbirjiIndex - RAEX ESG balanced" in 2024.

According to the oil company, Rosneft was highly rated by RAEX for its management of ESG risks and opportunities - it became the only Russian oil and gas company with a high ESG rating of AA, with the rating of the management component receiving the highest rating of AAA.

The index was launched in 2023. It is formed once a year and consists of 15 companies with the highest values of the RAEX agency ESG ranking. The RAEX list in 2024 includes a total of 144 companies from Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, 18 of which represent the oil and gas industry.

Over the last five years, Rosneft has spent over 440 billion rubles on environmental protection, of which over 270 billion rubles were "green" investments and about 170 billion rubles were spent on wastewater treatment, land reclamation and other environmental protection works. As a result, for example, atmospheric emissions were reduced by 25%.

Rosneft specialists have developed new methods of atmospheric air monitoring, which have been certified and entered into the Federal Information Fund for Uniformity of Measurements. Their implementation, according to the oil company, has increased the efficiency of air monitoring at a number of enterprises by 35%.

In 2018, Rosneft reaffirmed its commitment to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
