Sirius police will launch patrols on electric scooters
Officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the federal territory of Sirius will start carrying out their duties on modern electric scooters. This will improve the mobility and responsiveness of police officers. The experiment will be launched in the near future, reported in the department on January 31.
The project on the use of electric scooters in service activities will be a pilot, it is implemented by the OMVD of Russia on Sirius and the kickskating organization. The scooters were provided to the police in a special pasting.
"In the coming months, police officers will test to what extent the use of this type of transportation can increase the efficiency of law enforcement officers, especially such services as PPS, when patrolling territories", - stated in the message.
Due to their compact size, the scooters will allow officers to move faster on the streets, especially in dense traffic and narrow alleys, where the use of cars can be difficult. IAB officers who will use the electric scooters will undergo additional testing on their knowledge of traffic rules, including those related to personal mobility aids, and will be trained in safe driving of electric scooters under the guidance of instructors.
On December 4 last year in the State Duma proposed to introduce for couriers an analog of MTPL policy, which will apply to those who move on foot, on bicycles or mopeds. The deputies drew attention to the growing number of road accidents in which delivery drivers are the culprits, while it is practically impossible to obtain compensation from them for the victims of incidents within the framework of civil law relations.
