Sobyanin told about the concept of the new building of the Great Moscow Circus

Moscow authorities have defined the concept of reconstruction of the building of the Great Moscow Circus. Its total area will be more than 80 thousand square meters, said in his Telegram-channel the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

According to him, the complex will consist of two buildings - a large round structure in the form of a tent, where the main arena will be located, as well as an elongated auxiliary building. They will be connected by a passage.

"The capacity of the auditorium will increase from three to five thousand seats. It is also important that the new complex will organically fit into the surrounding landscape and development," Sobyanin said.

The competition for the development of architectural and town-planning concept for the reconstruction of the Great Moscow State Circus was announced in September 2024. The winning project gives an opportunity to create a world-class circus in the capital and to arrange around it an extensive public space for family recreation, as well as zones for exhibition events, the mayor concluded.
