Summary of special operations in Ukraine for the week
A special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas has been carried out by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that during the week the Russian Armed Forces carried out seven group strikes with high-precision weapons and attack drones, as a result of which critical energy facilities that support the work of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex were hit.
"In addition, the infrastructure of military airfields, places of assembly, storage and preparation for the use of strike drones and uncrewed boats, as well as points of temporary deployment of Ukrainian armed formations were hit," the Defense Ministry noted.
The ministry recalled that during the period from January 25 to 31, the Dvurechnaya settlement of the Kharkiv region, the settlements of Zelenoye, Novelizavetovka, Novovasilevka, Velyka Novoselka of the Donetsk People's Republic were liberated.
"During the week, units of the "North" troop group continued to destroy AFU formations in the Kursk region. The settlement of Nikolayevo-Daryino was liberated," the Defense Ministry added.
Also during this period of time, 43 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered on the line of contact.
In total, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 41,987 unmanned aerial vehicles, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,975 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,511 multiple rocket launchers, 21,087 field artillery and mortars, 31,060 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
