A unique book about the history of EAO will appear in local libraries

A new edition of the unique book "A Man Walked from Century to Century" has arrived in Birobidzhan. It was published for the 90th anniversary of EAO, which the autonomy will celebrate in 2024. In the near future, the book will be sent to local libraries.

Elena Sarashevskaya, the compiler and editor of the book, said that in one collection it was possible to combine stories about people and events of different eras: from the emergence of Cossack settlements to modern history, writes EAOMedia IA.

The book contains 23 literary and historical essays. Their heroes are famous people who contributed to the development of EAO. The project was realized with the direct support of the regional government. The authors of the works are journalists, local historians, employees of museums and libraries.

According to Vladislav Tsap, art editor of the publication, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, portraits of some heroes of the essays were created almost from scratch, there were only scarce archival materials, and lifetime photos of these people have not survived.

Earlier it was reported that in Birobidzhan is completing the modernization of the street lighting system. Specialists will continue to maintain working light points and install new ones where necessary. After the end of the concession agreement, all network facilities will be transferred to the ownership of the municipality.
