Specialists of the Public Communications Network Monitoring and Management Center (PCNMC), subordinate to Roskomnadzor, have recorded a surge of subscribers' appeals about problems in the work of Rostelecom. This was told to "Izvestia" on January 31 in the press service of the agency.

"Since 10:45 CMU SSOP fixes a surge of subscribers' appeals about problems in the work of PJSC "Rostelecom". According to preliminary information, the reason is a failure on the infrastructure of the telecom operator", - stated in the message of the press service.

The company's press service said that there was a short-term emergency situation on the data network in Chuvashia, other regions were not affected by the problem.

"There was a short-term emergency situation on the data transmission network in Chuvashia. Some subscribers in this region could experience difficulties with Internet access for 15-20 minutes," RIA Novosti quoted Rostelecom as saying.

Subscribers experiencing difficulties were asked to reboot their devices to restore operation.

Earlier, on January 21, it was reported that Rostelecom recorded "information security incidents" at one of its contractors who maintain the company's Internet resources. Later the same day, the Ministry of Digitization indicated that the infrastructure of Rostelecom's contractor was subjected to a hacker attack, which did not affect the "Gosuslugi" service.
