Russians began to spend more money on sale days

Russians spent more money on Cyber Monday: the average check increased by 17% compared to last year's figures. This follows from the data of the service for accepting online and offline payments, YUKassa (owned by the company YuMoney), which were reviewed by Izvestia on January 31. The sale was held from January 27 to 29.
At the same time, on January 27, the turnover of sites that accept payment through the service increased by 12% compared to last year, and for the entire period of the sale - by 9%. There was an increase in demand for technology and clothing with a decrease in the average check, and among the services were popular segments of entertainment, health and education.
"For the entire period of the sale, the turnovers of the sites connected to UKassa increased by 9% year-on-year, the number of payments decreased by 7%, and the average check became 17% higher and amounted to 1,521 rubles. Compared to 2023, the turnover increased by 40%, the number of payments increased by 18%, and the average check increased by 19%. The decrease in the number of payments may be due to the fact that consumers began to make more point purchases, but at higher prices: many postpone serious purchases for the period of sales", - said Nikita Tsoi, head of sales department of UKassa.
During the whole period of the campaign the turnover of online stores of household appliances increased by 31%, and the number of payments - by 53%. The average check decreased by 14% to 14,253 rubles. In the electronics category, the turnover increased by 72% in annual terms, the number of payments doubled, and the average check decreased by 15%, to 17,497 rubles. The situation is similar in the category of clothing goods for men and women. For the entire period of the sale, the turnover increased by 79%, the number of payments - twice, and the average check became 16% less and amounted to 11,461 rubles.
"Such dynamics is characteristic of the categories that remain among the main participants of the sale. It is in these segments that people often buy more goods at lower prices. At the same time, more specialized directions are growing in the check. For example, turnover in the sports and leisure clothing category doubled on the first day of the sale, the number of payments increased by 91%, and the average check increased by 15% to 11,790 rubles. For the entire period, the turnover increased by 90%, the number of payments - by 75%, and the average check - by 9%, to 11,325 rubles," - said Tsoi.
