The number of Ukrainian men granted asylum in Europe has exceeded 1 million

The number of asylum decisions for men from Ukraine aged 18-64 has exceeded 1 million, Izvestiya has calculated based on monthly data from the European Statistics Agency (Eurostat).
Eurostat publishes information on the number of approved applications since March 2022 with a breakdown by citizenship, gender and age groups.
Some of the registered refugees dropped off the lists as a result of moving out of the EU, naturalization and other reasons. 913 thousand men of conscription age continue to remain in the EU in the same status (as of the end of 2024).
Despite the exit restrictions imposed by Kiev on adult men, their number in the EU has increased by 300 thousand compared to the end of 2022.
Their share in the total number of Ukrainian refugees (4.33 million people, according to Eurostat) is also growing. By the end of 2024, it amounted to 21.1% (5% more than in December 2022).
