The Ministry of Construction of Russia approved Amendment No. 6 to SP 16.13330.2017 "SNiP II-23-81* Steel Structures", aimed at improving the design and calculation of steel building structures of buildings and structures used for civil and industrial purposes. This was told to "Izvestia" on January 31 in the press service of the Ministry.
"The Ministry of Construction of Russia together with the professional community systematically develop the use of steel in the construction industry, including to achieve the technological sovereignty of our country. As part of the implementation of the roadmap, applied scientific research is conducted annually to improve technical regulation in the field of construction of facilities with the use of steel structures. Successfully conducted in 2023 research in the field of design and calculation of steel structures allows to clarify the provisions of the Code of Rules and expand the use of steel frames in public and residential construction", - said the Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation Irek Faizullin.
The Code of Rules introduces the results of experimental studies of four-sided steel node adjacencies of beam-columns, includes requirements for the use of racks made of curved angle lambda-profiles, which is a corner profile with a developed cylindrical shaped shoulder, directed outward by the convex side, as well as the center of curvature inside the profile. Lambda profiles are used for pavement trusses, transmission line supports, and connections in steel framing.
"SP 16 - the main document that establishes the requirements for the design and calculation of steel building structures of buildings and structures for various purposes. Updating the formulas and calculation coefficients will make it possible to facilitate flange assemblies, to take into account the reinforcing effect of the column wall in the abutment zone and in some cases to exclude vertical ties, which will make it possible to reduce costs and increase the speed of installation of steel structures. In addition, the introduced changes will simplify and systematize the design rules, expanding opportunities for designers to choose structural solutions", - said the director of FAU "FCS" Andrey Kopytin
