Head of Russian Defense Ministry representative office arrested in bribery case

Sergei Bolgarev, head of the Russian Defense Ministry's representative office, has been arrested in the case of a bribe of 14 million rubles from the Ipuls plant in Pyatigorsk during the fulfillment of the state defense order. This was reported in the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia on January 31.

"In the period from 2017 to 2023 Bolgarev received from the Director General of JSC "Pyatigorsk plant "Impulse" Sergey Kuzmenko bribes in a particularly large amount totaling more than 14 million rubles for formal acceptance of military products manufactured by the enterprise, as well as general patronage in the execution of the state defense order," - specified in the department.
