Lavrov assessed Russia's ability to become the world's majority leader

Russia has great academic, scientific and analytical potential to become the world's majority leader. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on January 30 during his speech at the general meeting of the Russian Council on Foreign Affairs.
"We have a serious potential here, because our ideas and meanings, our view on the principles of interstate communication are shared by the majority of members of the world community, although not everyone dares to say it loudly. We can become an eventual leader of the world majority," he said.
Lavrov noted that Russia and the world majority have the same vision of the desired future. The minister also added that the Russian Federation together with the SCO and BRICS are already working on the formation of a new agenda for international cooperation.
In addition, he emphasized that the West is unable to block this process despite its "numerical advantage."
"There is a struggle for hearts and minds. This is one of the visible signs of the current stage of development of international relations. Whoever secures an advantage in the sphere of ideas and meanings will in many ways strengthen his international position in practical affairs," Lavrov summarized.
Earlier, on January 21, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament (EP), said that the European Union will have to mend relations with Russia when the time comes, as it is a neighbor of the community and a global player on the world stage.
