A storm warning has been announced in Kamchatka due to high waves in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. This was reported on January 31 in the GU of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region.

"In the first half of the night of February 1 in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, in area 11260 (Yelizovsky municipal district, Ust-Kamchatsky municipal district) and in sub-areas 11311, 11313 (waters of the Pacific Ocean, Aleutian municipal district) is expected dangerous sea excitement height of 8-9 m", - stated in the message.

It is noted that the storm warning will be in effect until Saturday evening, February 1.

In the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations specified that the wind disturbance of the sea does not pose a threat to settlements located on the coast.

Earlier, on January 28, in Kamchatka due to abnormally low air temperatures in Penzhinsky district introduced a high alert mode. In connection with the frost, residents were advised not to open doors and windows in the premises, not to leave the house without an emergency, to turn on independent heating systems.
